Lady Hawks split decisions on the week

The Colleton Prep Lady Hawks dropped to 5-6 overall and 0-2 in Region I-AA following split decisions last week. The Lady Hawks earned a 44-16 win over Jefferson Davis Academy and suffered a 45-17 loss at home against Hilton Head Prep later in the week.

Against Jefferson Davis Thursday Jan. 9, the Lady Hawks were led by Langley Harter who scored 17 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, 5 steals and had 3 blocks. Rachel Wright scored 12 points and recorded 2 rebounds and 5 steals. Rianna Bailey had 6 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. Other scoring included Taylor Tomedolskey 5 and Heather Davis 4.

“It was a very physical game,” said Coach Nicole Cain. “Both teams were rough and wanted to win. My girls just wanted it more.”

The Lady Hawks only managed to score 17 points at home Friday Jan. 10 against Hilton Head Prep. Scoring included Harter 5, Bailey 4, Wright 3, Tomedolskey 3, Davis 1 and Becca Martin 1. Colleton Prep was scheduled to travel to Hilton Head Christian Tuesday Jan. 14 and Beaufort Academy Friday Jan. 17.
