The Colleton Prep Lady Hawk Softball team will begin competition in the SCISA AA State Playoffs this upcoming weekend, May 13-14, in Sumter. The reigning AA State Champions will learn who they will face and start time for game one mid-week when brackets for the tournament are expected to be released.

In preparation for the weekend, the Lady Hawks hosted Cross High School on May 3 and dominated in a 15-0 shut-out. Sidney Bailey earned the win across five innings, allowing no runs, striking out six and issuing one walk. Taylor Tomedolskey went 2-2 with an RBI to lead Colleton Prep at the plate. Hannah Strickland, Becca Martin, Brayli Stanfield, and Taylor Carroll each recorded a hit.

Colleton Prep will offer beginner-intermediate pitching instruction from USC-Beaufort pitching staff members Haley Massenburg and Libbey Carey beginning Sunday, May 21 at 3 p.m. at War Hawk Field. The weekly lessons will be in a group format and last approximately 90 minutes. The cost per player is $10. All current middle school and prospective high school players are encouraged to attend.
