The Colleton Prep Lady Hawks earned a 3-0 win in straight sets (25-17, 25-3, 25-9) over Jefferson Davis Academy on Senior Night, which was held at home on Monday, October 4th. The Lady Hawks lost against Region IV-AA opponent Beaufort Academy the following evening in straight sets 25-14, 25-11 and 25-22.
Against Jefferson Davis, Emily Wilson recorded 3 kills, 2 blocks, 3 aces, 2 digs and 20 assists. Linley Jones had 1 kill, 8 digs, 3 assists and Jessica Hughes had 2 kills and 10 aces. Other scoring included Caroline Kinard 10 kills, 2 aces; Taylor Tomedolskey 3 kills, 4 aces, 3 digs; Kaylee Warren 1 kill; and Cassie Craven 6 kills, 1 block and 1 dig.
In the loss to Beaufort Academy, Wilson had 18 assists and 6 digs, while Jones had 15 digs and an ace. Other scoring included Hughes 4 kills, 1 ace, 2 digs; Kinard 5 kills, 1 ace, 5 digs; Tomedolskey 5 kills, 1 ace; Warren 1 kill, 1 dig; Caroline Mock 3 kills, 1 block; and Lana Catterton 4 digs.
“As a team, we had a great win on Senior Night against Jefferson Davis,” said Coach David Roper. “And, as a team, we took a hard region loss against a tough Beaufort Academy team. We will continue to put in the work, learning and getting better with each practice and game. I am proud of the ladies and look forward to seeing how the rest of the season will play out.”
