The Colleton Prep Lady Hawk Volleyball team dropped to 2-4 on the season after a hard-fought loss to Beaufort Academy in a home game, played on Thursday, September 9th.

The Lady Hawks rebounded after losing the first two sets (26-24, 25-14) to come back and earn wins in the next two sets (25-22, 25-22). Colleton Prep forced a tiebreaker but would fall 15-10.

Emily Wilson continued to record high assists with 35 in the game against the Eagles. Wilson had 14 digs along with an ace and a kill. Linley Jones had 5 kills, 1 ace and 41 digs. Other scoring included Jessica Hughes, with 4 kills, 1 ace, 8 digs; Caroline Kinard, with 15 kills, 1 ace, and 20 digs; Taylor Tomedolskey, who had 9 kills, 2 blocks, 2 aces, 17 digs; Kaylee Warren, who had 1 ace; Caroline Mock, with 2 kills; and Cassie Craven, with 1 kill.

“The Lady Hawks came to play and showed a lot of heart,” said Coach David Roper. “We are improving daily and are really coming together as a team. I am so proud of these young ladies to go down in the first two sets, then rally back winning the next two, keeping us in the match. The team effort was impressive. We fell just short in the final set to take the loss, but we will continue to put the work in and grow as a team.”

Colleton Prep was scheduled for a busy week with an away game against Calhoun Academy on Monday, September 13. Then, home matches were scheduled against Orangeburg Prep (Wednesday) and Hilton Head Prep (Thursday).
