The Colleton Prep varsity softball team sealed the SCISA Region IV-AA Championship with a 12-0 win over Thomas Heyward Academy on Senior Night, held Thursday, April 1.
The Lady Hawks are currently 7-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play with eight regular season games remaining. These games are on the schedule following spring break.
In a 10-0 win over Orangeburg Prep on Tuesday, March 30, Lady Warhawk Haley Bootle earned the win in five innings of work, allowing no earned runs on two hits, striking out four and issuing five walks. Weslin Jones was 2-4 with 2-RBI’s and scored four runs in the game. Taylor Tomedolskey was 2-3 with an RBI. Linley Jones went 1-2 (homerun) with 2-RBI’s and Rianna Bailey went 1-3. Makenzie Pellum was 1-2 and scored two runs.
Playing against Thomas Heyward on Senior Night, Bootle earned the win in the circle allowing no earned runs on two hits, striking out nine. Linley Jones went 3-3 with 2-RBI’s and scored three runs in the game to lead the Lady Hawks at the plate. Weslin Jones was 2-3 with 2-RBI’s and Rianna Bailey went 2-3 with an RBI. Tomedolskey was 2-4 and scored three runs. Becca Martin was 1-3 with an RBI and scored once.
Colleton Prep is scheduled to travel to John Paul II on Tuesday, April 13 and to Laurence Manning on Thursday, April 15.
