Lady Cougars off to strong start on the court

The Colleton County Lady Cougar varsity basketball team is on a three-game win streak after earning wins over the Low Country Wildcats, Woodland High School and Battery Creek in their regular season opening week. Colleton County is now 4-2 overall.

Playing at home against the Low Country Wildcats on Monday, November 29, Colleton earned a 48-26 win. Makayla Chisolm led with 15 points and 1 rebound and Shandi Brown added 12 points and 2 rebounds. Other scoring included Bethany Monroe 10; Heaven Green 9; and Ma’Kayla Brown 2.

The Lady Cougars defeated Woodland High School 44-43 in a nail-biter on Friday, December 3 at home. Shandi Brown led Colleton County’s scoring effort with 17 points and claimed 4 rebounds, and Monroe added 10 points and 3 rebounds. Other scoring included Chisolm 8, M. Brown 5; and Green 4.

Bethany Monroe scored 15 points in the 41-32 win over Battery Creek High School on Saturday, December 4 on the road. S. Brown added 13 points and claimed 2 rebounds in the game. Heaven Green scored 8 points and had 8 rebounds, and Chisolm had 5 points and 6 rebounds.

The Lady Cougars were scheduled to host Academic Magnet on Wednesday, December 8, before traveling to Woodland High School on Friday, December 10.
