Lady Cougars currently 4-3 in Region VII

The Colleton County Lady Cougar Softball team is currently 6-4 overall and 4-3 in Region VII-AAAA after earning a 9-3 win over Beaufort High School and losing 10-6 against James Island High School last week.

In the loss to James Island High School on April 4, Sydney Stivender threw a complete game lasting seven innings, allowing 15 hits and ten runs, while striking out one. Shandi Brown went 2-4 at the plate to lead Colleton County. Stivender, Alexa Eversole, Mackenzie Pellum, Makayla Chisolm, Jordan Slocum, and Bailey Cox each recorded a hit.

Against Beaufort High School on April 8, Colleton County claimed the lead in the fifth inning to defeat the Eagles when Bailey Cox singled on a 1-2 count, to score the go-ahead run. Five more runs would cross home plate in the sixth inning thanks to RBIs from Jordan Slocum, Makayla Chisolm, and Lanasia Sanders. The Lady Cougars had 10 hits on the day with Stivender, Slocum and Cox recording multiple hits.

Sydney Stivender earned the win in the circle, surrendering three runs on three hits over seven innings, striking out six. Colleton County will be in action over spring break with a home game versus Beaufort High School on Monday, April 18.
