The Colleton County Lady Cougar Basketball team was eliminated from post season play following a round one loss to No. 2 seed Aiken High School (73-28) in the SCHSL AAAA State Basketball Playoffs, which were held on Tuesday, February 16.
The Lady Cougars entered the tournament as the No. 5 seed. Colleton County finished the 2021-22 season at 12-10 overall and 3-9 in Region VII-AAAA.
In the loss to Aiken, Colleton County trailed by 41 points at the half. The Lady Cougars shot 31-percent on the night, made 13-20 free throws and recorded 23 turnovers in the loss. Makayla Chisolm led with 13 points on the boards and grabbed 2 rebounds. Other scoring included Heaven Green with 7 points, Shandi Brown with 6 points, and Xiomara Oxner with 2 points.
