Lady Cougar 4x100 Relay Team captures 2nd in SCHSL AAA State Championships

The Colleton County High School Track & Field team was well represented in the SCHSL State AAAA Championships that were held on Saturday, May 21 at Spring Valley High School in Columbia. Colleton’s team finished in 20th place out of 28 teams competing with 10 points. Greenville High School captured first place with 102 overall points. The girls 4x100 Meter Relay team consisting of Makayla Chisolm, Kh’Mya Mosley, Shandi Brown, and Bethany Monroe finished in 2nd place with a time of 48.70. Greenville High School finished in 1st place with a time of 47.23. Shandi Brown earned a 7th place finish in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 12.37 and Makayla Chisolm finished 14th after posting a time of 12.83. Chisolm also finished 14th in the Javelin competition recording an 84.11 throw. Zariona Hudson finished 10th with a 4-8 High Jump. Nasir Pencile, Colleton County’s only male athlete qualifying for Saturday’s championship, finished 12th in High Jump after posting a 5-10 jump. “Hard work paid off for us on Saturday,” said Coach Courtney Singleton.
