The Walterboro Police Department hosted its first Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Police Department vehicles lined up on both side of Lucas Street to pass out candy, safety glow sticks and stuffed animals to children from around the community. So many parents participated in the drive-through Trunk or Treat, that it didn’t take long to run out of stuffed animals, and almost run out of candy. However, the officers had fun and enjoyed dressing up in costumes and mingling with parents and children of Colleton.

Police Chief Wade Marvin had fun dressed as a transformer complete with a voice disguiser that sounded like a robot.

“I think this is great,” said Marvin. “It is important that we support the community in any way we can.”
