Mr. John Wesley Ulmer, 91, of Lodge, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at his residence.

Born January 23, 1929 in Lodge, he was a son of the late William Perry Ulmer and Effie Clem Brabham Ulmer.  He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Munich, Germany he served in the 508th Military Police.  He was a graduate of Lodge High School.  Mr. John was a lifelong member of Lodge United Methodist Church.  He loved farming and was involved in many farming and agricultural groups and organizations. 

Surviving are: his wife of 70 years, Fern Key Ulmer of Lodge; children, Corey Wesley Ulmer, Sr. and his wife Eileen of Lodge, John William Ulmer and his wife Eve of Ehrhardt, Richard Allen Ulmer and his wife Bobbie of Ehrhardt, Dennis Randall Ulmer, Sr. and his wife Janet of Lodge, and Russell Ryan Ulmer, Sr. and his wife Paula of Irmo; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a brother, W. P. Ulmer, Jr.; and two sisters, Pearl Sauls and Grace Patrick.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of one’s choice.

A family graveside committal service was held Thursday afternoon, December 31, 2020 at Lodge United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The Reverend Chris King officiated.
