Brice Herndon Funeral Chapels and Crematory

Mrs. Jodi Addison-Taylor, Delta #178, 50, of Cottageville, entered into eternal rest Tuesday afternoon, August 17, 2021 at Colleton Medical Center.

Born August 29, 1970 in Walterboro, she was the daughter of the late Reginald H. Addison and Lynder Reeves Addison. Jodi retired as a Lieutenant from the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office.  She was a member of Maple Cane Baptist Church, where she had worked with the youth group.  She had also worked with the Colleton County Coroner’s Office.  She had also owned and operated “Kids Zone” Daycare in Cottageville.

She lived a remarkable life, one that inspired many greatly. Her can-do attitude and happy demeanor made her a wonderful person to know. She was a valued member of the Colleton Sheriff’s Office who positively impacted many during her 23-year career. During her tenure, she selflessly served the citizens of Colleton County in many roles before retiring in 2018, such as investigator, school resource officer, jail administrator, and public information officer. Despite all of her accomplishments over the years, her biggest passion was bringing justice and much-needed support to domestic violence and children crimes victims.

She was a kind soul with a smile and a sense of humor that would light up a room. She was honest, loyal, giving, supportive, compassionate, and had the magic of inspiring each one of us. She lived a life of integrity and selflessness. We will miss her great words and wonderful advice that helped each of us move ahead in life.

Surviving are: her husband of 23 years, Cameron Ray Taylor of Cottageville; children, Westly Taylor and his wife Lauren of Cottageville, Cody Taylor of Cottageville, Cameron Taylor of Summerville, Chris Taylor and his wife Captain Maylin Taylor of Alaska, Tray Taylor of Greenville, and Brantley Taylor of Greenville; brother, Richard Addison and his wife Tiffany of Walterboro; grandsons, Sawyer, Rivers, and Cooper; and nephews, Jack and Barry. She was preceded in death by a stepson, Steven Turner; and a grandson, Brody.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to: Hopeful Horizons, Advocacy and Rape Crisis Center, Post Office Drawer 1775, Beaufort, SC 29901.

Funeral services were held 11 o’clock, Saturday morning, August 21, 2021 at Maple Cane Baptist Church, Cottageville. Interment followed in Jordan Cemetery, Cottageville.
