Brice Herndon, Funeral Chapels and Crematory
Mrs. Jeanette Padgett Thomas, 65, entered into rest Monday, January 20, 2020, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Islandton while under the care of Amedisys Hospice.
Born February 2, 1954, in Islandton, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Henry R. Padgett, Sr. and the late Alice Corbin Padgett Ehrhardt and the step-daughter of the late Douglas Ehrhardt. She was a member of Rice Patch Christian Church in Islandton. Jeanette loved the outdoors and her flowers and was well known for her beautiful flowerbeds at her home. She possessed a special love for her grandchildren and was always helping others.
Surviving are: her husband of forty-six years, Mr. Allen Richard Thomas, Sr.; three children, Jennifer Thomas Thurston and her husband Kenny of Walterboro, Allen R. Thomas, Jr. of Walterboro, and Kimberly Thomas Hutto and her husband Will of Islandton; two brothers, Henry Roland Padgett of Bluffton and Kirk Ehrhardt of Smyrna, Tennessee; two sisters, Connie Padgett Stanley of Islandton and Norma Jean Sanders of Williston; and nine grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to: Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Friday, January 24, 2020, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Larry Smith and The Reverend Gerald Mabry officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the funeral ceremony beginning at 11 o’clock at the funeral home.
