Mr. James Mixon of Rocky Mount, North Carolina formerly of Hampton County, South Carolina, died Monday evening at his residence with his family. Mr. Mixon was born April 7, 1949 in Hampton County, a son of the late Gassie Mixon and Annie Priester Mixon. He had worked in the Maintenance Department at McLane Facility Refrigeration as a Crew-leader, and had served in the Army. Surviving are: His wife: Donnie Kaye Leonard Mixon of Rocky Mount; Son: J. P. Luper of Rocky Mount; Daughter: Shelly Bensinger of Portland, Oregon; Sisters: Sadie Cotton of Dahlonega, Georgia, Genevive Fender of Hanahan, and Reba Williams of Rocky Mount; and one granddaughter: Jessica Luper. Mr. Mixon was predeceased by his parents; Brother: Randall Mixon; and Sisters: Virgie Price, Louise Crosby, and Betty Ann Polk. Graveside services will be 11 A.M. Friday in the Sandy Run Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Charles Price, with Military Honors. Visitation will be Friday morning at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton, beginning at 9 A.M. prior to services. Death is a Heartache, No one can heal.
