Mr. James Kyle Addison, husband of the late Bessie Adams Addison, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the Roper Hospice Cottage in Mount Pleasant.  He was 92.

Mr. Addison was born in Cottageville April 13, 1928 a son of the late James Franklin Addison and Mamie Muckenfuss Addison. He was a graduate of Clemson University, where he received his degree in Electrical Engineering.  Mr. Addison worked for 41 years in the construction division of DuPont, living and working in many different locations, before retiring with his loving wife in Savannah.  He enjoyed golf, doing projects around the house, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his children:  James Kyle Addison Jr. (Nancy Peard) of Asheville, NC, Katherine Addison Oyer (Douglas Scott) of Mount Pleasant, and Cynthia Addison Richards (Lee David) of Newark, DE.  He has one brother, Edward Legare Addison of Edisto Island.  There are seven grandchildren:  Lindsay Addison Hauss, Courtney Addison McKenzie, Elizabeth Adams Addison, Rebecca Lee Richards, James Lohman Oyer, Scott Adams Oyer, and Katherine Olivia Oyer.  Mr. Addison is also survived by five great-grandchildren:  Addison Ann McKenzie, Garland Hamilton McKenzie III, Cameron Steele McKenzie, Julia Addison Hauss, and Caroline Marie Hauss. At the time of her passing in April of this year, he and his late wife Bessie had spent 69 wonderful years of marriage together.

In consideration of the circumstances that currently exist with the coronavirus pandemic, and with the health and safety of the community in mind, a private graveside service will be held at the Jordan Cemetery in Cottageville.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
