Brice Herndon Funeral Chapels and Crematory

Mr. J. Cameron Carver, 86, of Ruffin, died Friday, April 30, 2021, at his residence.

Born September 17, 1934 in Ruffin, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Clyde Cameron Carver and Mamie Lou Crosby Carver.  He served his country in the United States Air Force and was a retired general contractor.  He was a member of Ruffin Baptist Church.

Surviving are: his wife, Jenny Hughes Carver of Ruffin; children, Eric Carver (Julia) of Alaska, Amanda Ryder (Mark) of Alaska, and Lisa Carver of New Mexico; grandchildren, Candice Hackworth, Jennifer K’Ville, Danielle Ryder, Bryan Ryder (Amy) Kolte Cameron Dalton-Carver, Kylie Dalton (Shannon); and great grandchildren, Amelia, Jordan, Kaitlyn, and Bryson.  He was preceded in death by a son, David Carver; and a daughter, Veronica Hackworth.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Ruffin Baptist Church. 

Funeral services will be held 2 o’clock, Tuesday afternoon, May 4, 2021 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Smyly Cemetery, in Ruffin. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at 1 o'clock prior to the service.
