Ivanhoe Family Cinemas and the Colleton County Arts Council held their first joint Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza on Saturday, April 3rd. at Ivanhoe Family Cinemas in Walterboro.

This was a free public event.

On the day of the event, 15 children were allowed inside the cinema at a time in rotation and given five-minutes to hunt for eggs. Outside, the kids enjoyed fun games and activities: Cindy Riley, of First Steps, donated books and baskets; Bubba Trippe and Josh Bell provided train rides for children; and Scott and Sonya Grooms made sure that great music played all day.

There were also egg races, sack races, bean bag toss and cans to knock down, along with a professional face painter and jump castle, provided by Walterboro Rental.

The Easter Bunny was also there taking pictures with kids.

“Special thanks to the following businesses, groups and people: Golden Daffodil, Fit4, Lowcountry Smocked Tots, Mandy Bis-Na, Michelle Robinson, and the Colleton County High School National Honor Society for their donations and volunteer work to help make this possible for our community,” said Faith Clementson, of Ivanhoe Cinemas. “Like the Trunk or Treat, we would like to make this an annual event for our community.”
