A southbound passenger car struck the rear of another southbound vehicle on Ivanhoe Road. The first car lost control, left the roadway, and struck a tree, trapping the female driver. The female driver was found semi-conscious in the car. She was extricated and treated by Colleton County Firefighter-Paramedics. She suffered a possible head injury and was transported to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center where she was transferred to CARE Flight and flown to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center. The accident is being investigated by the Walterboro Police Department.
