With Thanksgiving just around the corner, the Walterboro Christmas Parade is not too far off either.

Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 6:30 p.m., the yearly Christmas Parade will begin with streets being closed at 4:30 p.m.

According to the Walterboro Christmas Parade Committee the city will close certain streets for the 2021 Christmas Parade.

The one mile long parade route will start on Hampton Street at the Colleton Civic Center, proceed east, and turn right on Jefferies Hwy. The parade will then turn right on Washington Street, turn right on Neyle Street, right on North Miller Street ending back at the Colleton Civic Center on Hampton Street.

In addition to street closures, two parking spaces in front of the waterfall on Washington Street will be blocked off for announcing and those judging the parade.

Tourism Director Madison Stieglitz said, "I am thrilled to be able to coordinate the Christmas parade for the second year in a row. It takes a combined effort throughout the City to make this a successful event and I am appreciative of our Mayor and City Council for allowing the parade to be held during the evening this year. The parade is the kickoff to the holiday season in Walterboro and we encourage people of all ages to come join in the festivities!"
