Indians win in OT; improve to 4-2

The Salkehatchie Indians improved to 4-2 after earning wins over Franklin Prep (116-76) and Tallahassee College (74-71) on the week.

In a home win over Franklin Prep on Tuesday, November 16, Jordon Guthrie scored 22 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, and recorded 3 assists in the game. Lee Langstaff added 18 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Tre’Von Spillers had 16 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists and Trevur Smalls scored 13 points, 3 rebounds and 5 steals.

On the road against Tallahassee College on Sunday, November 21, the Indians earned a nail-biting overtime win. DJ Sinkler Jr. scored 23 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists to lead Salkehatchie.

T. Smalls added 11 points and 4 rebounds and J. Guthrie had 10 points and 2 rebounds. Other scoring included Kailee White 9 points, 5 rebounds; Diamante Brown 7 points, 10 rebounds; and Randall Litmon 6 points and 3 rebounds.

“We had two quality wins this week,” said Coach Glen Mayo. “We are excited to get back home Tuesday for our last game before Thanksgiving break.”

Salkehatchie will host Columbia International on Tuesday, November 23 in their last contest before Thanksgiving with a 7 p.m. tip-off planned.
