Indians ride with five-game win streak

The Salkehatchie Indians laid claim to a five-game win streak along with handing the undefeated Sandhills Community College their first loss of the season over the holidays. Salkehatchie currently stands at 12 -3 overall and is ranked at No. 23 in the NJCAA Division I Poll for January 6. The Indians were scheduled to host Combine Academy Wednesday Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. and Brunswick Community College Saturday Jan. 11 at 4 p.m.

Indians vs. State College of Georgia 98-92 (loss) – Friday Nov. 29

Vince Cole 37 points and Mardrez McBride 21 points.

Indians vs. Polk State (loss) – Saturday Nov. 30

Cole 27 points and McBride 12 points.


Indians vs. East Georgia State 73-61 (win) – Wednesday Dec. 4

Vince Cole led the Indians, scoring 19 points, pulling down 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Chipping in were McBride 11, Marlow Gilmore 10, Keyon Wesley 9, Ahmad Rand 8, and Kevin Williamson 7.

Indians vs. South Georgia State (22) 90-64 (win) – Saturday Dec. 7

McBride 17, Wesley 14, Cole 13, Jefferson 12, Williamson 10, Cross 8, Rand 6, Wilcox 6 and Duncan 4.

Indians vs. Daytona State 76-72 (win) – Tuesday Dec. 10

Vince Cole led Salkehatchie, scoring 29 points and grabbing 5 rebounds. Other scoring included McBride 15, Jefferson 10, Cross 8, Rand 6, and Wesley 10.

Indians vs. Northwest Florida State 86-78 (win) – Saturday Dec. 14

Cole once again led the Indians, scoring 25 points with 6 rebounds to his credit. Chipping in with a double-double was Wesley with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Other scoring included McBride 14, Williamson 14, and Rand 6.
