The Salkehatchie Indians earned an 84-78 win over NJCAA Region X opponent Caldwell Technical College on the road Thursday, February 10. The Indians earned the win over Caldwell with a six-man roster. They are currently 15-10 overall and 6-4 in Region X competition.

Derrick Sinkler led the Indians in the win over Caldwell Tech, scoring 26 points and grabbing 5 rebounds. Tre’Von Spillers added 19 points and 10 rebounds and Trevur Smalls scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Lee Langstaff had 14 points and Kharye Cayne had 6 points and 11 rebounds.

“This was a huge road win for us tonight,” said interim head coach Matthew Bennett. “We started the game kind of sluggish and got down by 10 at the half. The returners knew how important this game was for us, as this was the same locker room where some of these same players cried in last year when Caldwell beat us in overtime. After halftime, the guys locked in, and we came out with a big-time win.”

Salkehatchie has four regular season games remaining in the regular season. They will travel to Denmark Technical College on February 16 and will host Gaston College on February 20 at home.
