There has been a change in the timeline of absentee voting.
According to the Colleton County Board of Voter Registration and Elections Director Angela Upchurch, there was some confusion at the state level.
“We had been telling everyone that it would start Sept. 28, but that has changed,” she said. “In-office voting begins on Monday Oct. 5.”
According to Upchurch, absentee voting by mail has begun and the first batch of mail went out Friday Sept. 18. Anyone who wants to return their ballot in person can go to the drive-through service window at the election office.
