In His Name-Colleton is seeking landlords

Posted

In His Name-Colleton is partnering with Lowcountry Continuum of Care and the SC Housing Authority to provide homes for people in need.

To help those experiencing homelessness, In His Name-Colleton continues to collaborate with other organizations, recently becoming a member of the Lowcountry Continuum of Care (CoC).

The CoC seeks to encompass all organizations providing housing and services to persons experiencing homelessness and representing the interests of those individuals and families. Through its organizational structure and governing council, the Continuum of Care designates certain ‘‘project applicants’’ as the entities responsible for carrying out the projects identified by the Continuum through its planning responsibilities.

In His Name-Colleton became one of those agencies, recently naming Amanda Herndon, director of In His Name-Colleton, as a member of the CoC Governing Council.

Through partnerships like this, In His Name-Colleton hopes to assist those in Colleton County to end their homelessness with housing searches and rental assistance. “The CARES Act has seen an increase in funds throughout the Lowcountry, we want to see these funds in Colleton County,” said Herndon. “Collaboration, education and landlord participation is key.”

Do you or someone you know have a rental property and would be interested in partnering with In His Name-Colleton and SC Housing Authority? IHN and SCHA have tenants that could be a match.
