Howard University promotes Middleton

Dr. Kyndra Middleton of Walterboro was promoted to professor with tenure at Howard University in Washington, D.C.

The promotion came on October 4.

Middleton is a professor in the Department of Human Development and Psychoeducational Studies, School of Education. Now having attained the highest academic rank, Middleton said she will continue to work in professional development, advanced study, research, scholarly writing, teaching, student advisement and preparation.

“The decision to approve your promotion reflects my judgment, and that of your colleagues, that you have demonstrated excellence in your scholarly pursuits as a member of the Howard University faculty, and that you possess exceptional promise for continued scholarly achievement,” said Howard University President Wayne A. Frederick, who wrote a letter to Middleton congratulating her on her promotion.

Established in 1867, Howard University is located in Washington, D.C. and is a federally chartered, private and doctoral-research university.
