Hope: our desire for a better future | Faith

Posted

Romans 5:1-2
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Hope … an often-used word to relate our desires for a better future and a positive outcome to our plans.
Hope … the motivation and desire of those whose loved one is deployed.
Hope … the strength to sustain those who can’t see a way through life.
The reality is that lives are broken, relationships are bleeding, people all around us are battered by sin and pain.
Hope, we all need it. We often assume it is found in our current investments of time, effort and relationships. Hope is seen perhaps at the end of your present struggle. Hope is the elusive dream of those trapped in personal bondage and fear. It is the freedom from sorrowful addictions. Hope is a will to live when all other reasons have fled. Hope for many is going back and starting over…
We hope when we can’t see.
We hope when all we can do is believe.
We hope and pray, and we pray and we hope that there is hope…
There is!
The Bible says that Jesus Christ is the hope you have been seeking.
Romans 5:1-2: “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
 Hope is a confident faith, believing God for what we have yet to see Him do in our life.
 When you cannot see the way ahead, you can believe God and His Word will give you direction.
When you have never trodden this road before, you can hope in God to prepare a pathway and clear the debris so you can press on forward for the Glory of God.
When you are left without anyone else but God to lead your way, you can be confident that God is there and He will direct your path.
 Hope is a trusting faith, believing that God will only do what is right and best for my situation:
When your companions are not enough … you can trust Jesus.
When your conflicts are overwhelming ... you can trust Jesus.
When your confidence is in the Lord and what He can and will do on your behalf … you will find that Jesus never fails!
 Hope is an eternal faith, looking only to Jesus for sin’s forgiveness and your soul’s salvation
For many, “hoping” is like a dream or a fairy tale … they feel as if they have no hope of ever having hope. Their life is controlled by addictions, fear, hopelessness, pain, and sin. They keep spiraling downward … more and more, deeper and deeper into the abyss of Satan’s lies and his controlling bondage of fear, pain and hopelessness.
However, with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, there is hope! There is satisfaction! There is sustaining strength in the time of desperation and trouble!
Hope is a changed life that is looking forward to a changed eternity.
Hope is compelled to tell others that they too might have hope.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God and has given Himself to be your personal Saviour. Jesus died in your place, paying for all your sins. He died, was buried and rose from the dead to prove that He is God’s Son and will be your Lord and Saviour, if you will turn to Him and by faith believe in Him. Ask Jesus to forgive your sins and to save your soul. Turn your life over to Him and believe that He alone can and will save you today!
Let me know if you have trusted Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour.
