Pete Peters and Colton Daniels had a hit each.

“This was a great win for the guys,” said Coach Collin Miller. “Showing our resiliency, being down early but fighting back and taking control of the game was key in the win. I can’t say enough about how much of a team this group of guys are becoming.”

Against Thomas Heyward on Thursday, April 1, the War Hawks scored three runs in the top of the first inning to take an early lead and go on to add runs in the fourth and fifth inning. Kyle Hooker earned the win for Colleton Prep across five innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out 13.

Colton Daniels closed the final two innings allowing no earned runs on one hit, striking out three. Pete Peters led at the plate, going 2-4 and scoring once. Cole Gullotti and Smoak both went 1-3 with 2-RBI’s.

“The win over Thomas Heyward was a great way to cap off the week,” said Miller. “Kyle gave us a quality start and Colton came in to shut the door. Overall, I am proud of the guys to stay within themselves at the plate tonight and to do their jobs. By far our best win of the season and with the week off, some of the guys can rest up for the last part of the season.”
