Mr. Ronald Alan Hodges, 71, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Sunday morning, February 9, 2025, at Trident Medical Center. Born September 18, 1953, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, he was a son of the late Carl Owen Hodges and Lorene Williams Hodges Redwinski. He was a retired Bakery Manager for Publix. Ronald graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School, Class of 1971. He then received a baseball scholarship to Southern Illinois University where he was a pitcher. While at SIU, he played in the 1974 College World Series, finishing in third place. He then went on to play with the San Fransico Giants in the Minor League for three seasons. Ronald was an avid baseball player and fan. He had also played with the Roy Hobbs League in Melbourne, Florida. Surviving are: his wife of 18 years, Kathy Hester Hodges of Walterboro; children, Candice Kramschuster and her husband Joe of Tennessee and Michael Hodges and his wife Jennifer of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Grace Kramschuster and Mason Hodges; sister, Carla King and her husband Mitch of Montana; brother, Greg Hodges and his wife Kara of Florida; and his nieces, Jennifer, Dusty, and Courtney.
