Hiott’s, a small corner pharmacy, has stood for more than 80 years at the end of East Washington Street in downtown Walterboro.
The building was designed and constructed by J.S. Mitchell utilizing the art deco styling popular during the period between the first and second World Wars.

Originally called Peoples Pharmacy in 1938, it was owned and operated by Dr. Joe Mole. The pharmacy was later purchased by brothers Johnny and Eddie Hiott and renamed Hiott’s Pharmacy.
Building with LEGO is always fun whether you use your imagination to construct a small car or stretch your creativity to build a large castle. The real difficulty comes when you try to replicate a real-world place with the limited variety of parts produced by LEGO.
Hiott’s Pharmacy is a place that really stretches one’s ability as a builder to recreate in LEGO. The windows were particularly challenging and took a lot experimenting to get the angles correct. The finished model consists of approximately 1,500 parts and took 11 hours to build.
