‘High School Musical’ coming to local stage

Colleton County High School students have put their hearts and souls into recreating Disney’s “High School Musical.”

In the local performance, 120 Colleton County High School students came together to work as actors, while others chose to work behind the scenes as stage hands.

The students’ performance is based on the book by David Simpatico and includes musical arrangements by Bryan Louiselle. The mixture works brilliantly to tell the story of life at a small-town East High School.

Students at Colleton County High School have already been given a sneak peak of the local performance.

“They really loved it,” said Stephanie Drawdy, CCHS Chorus Instructor. “There was a lot of screaming and applause, and it went really well.”

Tickets are available at the CCHS Fees Window; or on location; or online at colletoncountycougars.com/event-tickets.

The play is being held on May 19th, 20th, and 23rd, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at Colleton County High School. Tickets are $10 per person.
