Help for seniors shopping

Posted

Seniors are getting a little help these days from local stores.
Southeastern Grocers, the parent company of local Bi-Lo stores, has announced immediate actions to better assist the community during this unprecedented time.
Bi-Lo will now be open from 8-9 a.m. only for seniors and high-risk customers Monday through Friday.
Dollar General’s Corporate headquarters also sent a media release stating that they too would be open from 8 a.m. for only seniors to shop.
Walmart announced that their stores would be open early for seniors beginning March 24 until April 28 from 6-7 a.m., one hour before the store opens.
This enables those who are not as mobile or who are more at risk to easily shop and gather what they need.
Southeastern Grocers also announced that they will be hiring additional people to aid those being laid off from the restaurant and hospitality industry.
Papa John’s has also decided to hire more delivery people to temporarily help those who need jobs.
