Harry Norman Kinard, age 93, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022. He was born January 1, 1929, in Smoaks, SC, a son of the late Henry Norman Kinard and Annie Laura Lyon Kinard and was the husband of the late Carolyn Shumake Kinard. Mr. Kinard loved his gals and his grandchildren. He enjoyed volunteering at the local hospital, gardening, reading, and sitting outside watching the squirrels and birds. Mr. Kinard served in the United States Army and was a member of Second Baptist Church.
Mr. Kinard is survived by his children, Mike Kinard, Sonny Harry Kinard, and Kim Kinard; daughters, Chris Ingram and her husband, Rev. Mitch Ingram, and Fran Knight (Ray); five grandchildren, Denise Hinson (Mike), Bryan Knight, Jason Ingram (Amy), Kelly Blackmon (Jon), and Kasie Ingram; eight great grandchildren, Justin Hinson, Nicole Adams, Kylee Hinson, Kathryn Ingram, Kamryn Ingram, Jaxon Ingram, Emma Lee Blackmon, and Klaire Blackmon; ten great- great grandchildren; two brothers, Darwin (Hazel) Kinard, and Ronald Kinard (Peggy); and a sister, Shirley Strickland.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Kinard; his two sons, Jackie Ingram, and Ronnie Ingram; his parents, Henry and Laura Kinard; two sisters, Myrtle Linder, and Marzie Linder; and brother-in-law, Robert Strickland.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Kinard will be 11:00 am Monday, September 5, 2022, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Mitch Ingram. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to The Way at Second Baptist Church, 1426 Great Falls Hwy., Lancaster, SC 29720.
