These traffic checkpoints were conducted by the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office, the S.C. Highway Patrol, and other law enforcement agencies in the region’s Law Enforcement Network (LEN): the LEN is comprised of multiple law enforcement groups from several surrounding counties, all of whom work together in these planned checkpoints.

During last weekend’s scheduled traffic checkpoints, which were held on Oct 22, the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office issued the following citations:

Two Driving Under Suspension citations.

Seven citations for simple possession of Marijuana.

Two open container citations.

Two child-restraint violations.

Three citations for drivers having no driver’s license.

One Driving Under the Influence arrest.

One arrest for Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana.

One arrest for Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule One Narcotics.

Additionally, the sheriff’s office seized three guns.

The S.C. Highway Patrol has not yet provided their portion of arrests and citations as of press deadline on Tuesday morning.
