The Green Pond H.O.P.E. Inc., along with Kouture Kreations, is sponsoring an Easter celebration for the entire community on April 16 at the Magwood Bryant Road picnic area.

Green Pond Easter Day will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with DJ G providing music in the background, along with assistance from Aisha Martin-Manning. Hundreds of families attended the event last year, with more planned to attend this year.

Children will have the opportunity to enjoy jump castles, face painting, games, prizes, Easter basket give-aways, pictures with the Easter Bunny, and free food and drinks.

County Councilman Art Williams will present as will other dignitaries, as the celebration will be in loving memory of Cheryl Young-Wells. Young-Wells was a native from Green Pond, and one of the original sponsors of the Green Pond Easter Egg Hunt for the kids in the community. She passed away several years ago, but the Easter Egg Hunt continues in her memory. Krystle Frasier is the founder of Kouture Kreations and has been carrying on the Easter egg hunt since the passing of Cheryl. GP H.O.P.E. will partner with her group this year to help carry on the egg hunt tradition.

Other sponsors include Crissy Treats, Boys to Kings, Never Scared, and iTreatery Bakes.

GP H.O.P.E. Inc., has consistently worked hard to provide community events for the residents of Green Pond in order to keep the area safe and family friendly, and as a way to promote camaraderie in the small town.
