On Pentecost Sunday, June 8th, the streets of Walterboro became a path of unified prayer and purpose as 47 people from five area churches joined together for a citywide prayer walk under the banner “Give Us This City.”
The prayer walk was more than a public event—it was a spiritual mission. Participants walked the heart of the city, starting on Robertson Boulevard, turning onto Jefferies Boulevard, and completing the route along Bells Highway. As they moved through the city, others branched into surrounding neighborhoods, lifting prayers over homes, families, and critical areas of influence throughout Walterboro.
The group prayed outside Colleton Medical Center, interceding for healing and health in the region. At the Colleton County School District headquarters, prayers were lifted for godly leadership, protection over children, and revival fire to sweep through the next generation. Others stood in front of local businesses, declaring economic breakthrough, prosperity, and job creation. Local churches situated along the walk were also specifically prayed for - that they would arise and shine, walk boldly in their calling and fulfill the mission God has given them.
Each step was marked by bold declarations: for revival, restoration, healing, unity and a divine turnaround in Colleton County. Intercessors bound crime, murder, and violence, and loosed peace, hope, and the power of the Holy Spirit over the region.
One leader proclaimed, “What God is doing in Walterboro is not small—it is a sign. A sign that God still moves in power. A sign that when His people humble themselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways, He will heal the land.”
Leaders echoed a unified message: “No one leader, no one church, no one voice will carry this on its own. This move is corporate. This revival is regional. The glory belongs to Jesus.”
They also boldly declared that “Walterboro will no longer be known for its past, but for His presence,” and expressed unwavering confidence that they “will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”
The atmosphere is shifting in Walterboro, and the people are rising—with faith, unity, and expectation for revival to sweep their city. The “Give Us This City” prayer walk marked a turning point—not just for those who walked, but for the entire community. With hearts united, churches aligned, and voices raised, the people of Walterboro are declaring revival is not coming—it’s already here.
