Fire destroys unoccupied structure

Fire-Rescue units responded a structure fire in a vacant mobile home in the 300 block of Country Lane on Sunday afternoon Sept. 20 at 5:47 p.m.

A crew arrived to find the singlewide mobile home attached to a one-story structure well involved.

Crews deployed multiple handlines to combat the fire.

They were able to stop the spread of the fire in the south end of the structure and saved the adjacent attached structure.

The north end of the building was a total loss and the roof collapsed.

Units were on the scene for two-and-a-half hours.

No was currently no one living in the building and no injuries were reported.

The fire appears to have started on the front porch outside of the building.

Fire-Rescue and the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the fire.
