Colleton County Farm Bureau Federation Board of Directors awarded Alli Polk with a $1,000 Farm Bureau Federation scholarship. Alli is the daughter of Brian and Amy Polk of Lodge, SC. She was the Salutatorian of her graduating class at Andrew Jackson Academy, President of the Student Body, member of Senior Beta Club, and Chaplin for Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Alli attended American Legion Auxiliary Palmetto Girls State at Presbyterian College, was editor of the yearbook, captain of varsity cheer squad, varsity volleyball, and basketball teams. She will be attending USC-Aiken and majoring in Elementary Education.
Colleton County Farm Bureau Federation Board also awarded Maggie Kennedy a $1,000 Farm Bureau Federation Scholarship. Maggie is the daughter of Benjamin and Stacy Kennedy of Walterboro, SC. Maggie was active in sports such as soccer, softball, and volleyball throughout her years in school. She volunteered at different schools with activities that included field days, water days, being the school mascot, reading with students, preparing classrooms, and decorating the schools. She has worked for Colleton County Summer Reading Summer Program for the last 2 years. She will be attending Lander University in Greenville, and her major is Early Childhood Education. After her college graduation, she plans to return to Walterboro to teach.
Turner Davis was awarded a $500 scholarship from Colleton County Farm Bureau Federation. He is a rising Junior at Clemson University and is majoring in Forestry. He is an active member of FCA, Wildlife Society – Clemson Chapter, and Clemson Block and Bridle, which is the largest agricultural association at Clemson that aims to provide support and assistance to those in the agricultural industry. While in Clemson, he works for Simpson Beef Farm and does research projects for Clemson. When he is home, he works with Hurst Home Services out of Rowesville. Turner enjoys spending his free time working out, playing pickleball, and hunting.
Also receiving a scholarship from Colleton County Farm Bureau Federation is Jackson Bell, he received a $500 Colleton County Federation Scholarship. Jackson is a rising Senior at Clemson University majoring in Forestry. He is the current President of the Clemson Forestry Club and a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. When home, Jackson works for Cullen Lumber Company in Allendale. He loves being outdoors as well as hunting, boating, and working on the family farm.
