Edisto honors its top officers, firemen

The Edisto Beach Police Department and Edisto Beach town officials recently honored several of the town’s firefighters, police officers and law enforcement officers for their outstanding efforts in 2021.

The Edisto Beach Firefighter of the Year is Patrick Moses. The town’s Part-Time Firefighter of the Year is Robert Griffin. Its Volunteer Firefighter of the Year is Scott Epps.

The department’s Memorial Recognition goes to Jack Slade Evans.

Additionally, COVID-19 Letters of Recognition went to officers Ken Dasen, Danaiel Seyel, David McWatters, Casey Bell, Patrick Clemens, and Colleton County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Ruben Carter.

A Letter of Commendation went to Patrick Clemens and the Life Saving Award went to Daniel Seyle and Patrick Moses.

The Edisto Beach Police Department also named its Officer of the Year as David McWatters.

“Often, we take for granted those that dedicate their life to protect us. although we don’t say ‘thank you’ enough, we do appreciate those who serve the public,” said Edisto Beach Town Administrator Iris Hill, in a written statement. These officers were also recognized in the town’s newsletter.
