Mrs. Dorothy Bridge Reeves passed away Tuesday evening, August 23, 2022 at the Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center in North Charleston.  She was 89.

“Dot”, as she was affectionately known, was born in Round O September 8, 1932 a daughter of the late Joseph Leon Bridge and Clara Garris Bridge.  She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Walterboro, where she was formerly active in the Essie Loper Circle and the Will Goodwin Sunday School Class.  Dot was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of The Gideons International, the Red Hat Society, and the Senior Friends at Colleton Medical Center.  She was a former saleslady at Hayes Jewelers downtown, and she was known throughout the area as an excellent southern cook.

She is survived by her children Joseph Jackson and Deborah Kane O’Quinn (Mack) of Walterboro, as well as a host nieces, nephews, and extended family.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Leonard Sandifer and William M. “Billy Reeves, and by her siblings Auburn and Harold Bridge, and Margaret B. Creel.  

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, August 27, 2022 at 10:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.  Dot will be laid to rest in a private graveside committal at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, and in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Gideons International.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
