Mr. Donald Miller, age 87, of Colleton County, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2021.

Don was born on November 4, 1933, in Paterson, NJ.

He graduated from Fair Lawn High School in 1953 and joined the United States Navy active reserves while still in school.

Don proudly served his country for six years in the United States Navy, including aboard the minesweeper USS SAGACITY in her home port of Charleston.  It was there that he met the love of his life and his wife of nearly 65 years, Marie.

Don served in various community and civic organizations, including Rotary International,the Walterboro Chamber of Commerce, youth sports programs, and the Boy Scouts.

He was a member of Walterboro First Baptist Church and served in many areas of church leadership.

Don worked for 34 years with Coburg Dairy in Charleston, Florence, Rock Hill and Walterboro, before retiring in 1995 to enjoy travel, yard work and the company of family and loved ones.  He also enjoyed the fellowship of Faith Builders, helping build handicap ramps for those in need.

Don Miller is survived by his loving spouse, Marie Mizell Miller of Colleton County; his two sons, Craig (Kim Glaze) Miller of Covington, GA, and Byron (Kim) Miller of Charleston, SC; granddaughters Ashlyn Rebecca Miller Lanham of Walterboro, SC, and Reagan Elizabeth Miller & Carlisle Rebecca Miller of Charleston, SC; and a great grandson Griffin Donald Lanham of Walterboro, SC.  He is also survived by sisters-in-law Joanne Emerson Miller of Bradenton, FL and Louise Mizell Theall of Manteca, CA, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Barney Miller and Vernice Marie Snyder Miller, brother William Barney Miller and his twin brother, Ronald Miller.

Family and friends are invited to remember Don at a visitation at 10 am on Friday, July 9 at the First Baptist Church of Walterboro, 124 South Memorial Avenue, Walterboro, prior to a celebration of life service at 11 am.  A reception will be hosted in the church social hall after the burial service with military honors at Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
