Friends of Colleton County Animal Shelter held the 11th Annual Walk & Wag October 13 at the Walterboro Wildlife Center. The weather was absolutely perfect for the dogs and their persons. Laura Clark, from the Colleton County Animal Shelter was pleased to announce that it appears this has been the most successful Walk & Wag monetarily. Ms. Clark, spoke with us about the event outlining the current programs and needs of the CCAS regarding proper care of the Colleton County pet/animal population. An auction was held providing winners with luxury dog beds, an Oreck vacuum cleaner, and other pet friendly prizes. Pelicans also provided free snow cones and another booth provided hot dogs and chicken perlo. The event looked to be a big success, and as with all successful endeavors, I suspect that plans are already being made for next year.
