Deacon Leroy Doctor the 2nd son of the late Lucas and Lucille Bowie Doctor was born on May 18th 1946 in Walterboro, South Carolina. He departed his life on October 13th 2024 at the Colleton Medical Center. Leroy attended the public school system of Colleton County, South Carolina. He moved to Fort Lauderdale Florida in 1965 where he drove trucks for various companies. On August 8th 1966 he married the love of his life Harriet Riggins. This union was blessed for 58 years. Leroy drove trucks for over 40 years. In August 1978 Leroy moved his family back to Walterboro, South Carolina to raise his children in a better environment and to be close to his parents and in laws. Leroy joined the Saint Stephens Church of God in Christ in 1990. He was ordained as a Deacon under the leadership of the late Supt. Jessie King, Jr. Leroy on the board of trustee and then was appointed as the chairman of the Deacon Board under the leadership of Pastor Overseer Edward L. Martin. Leroy was a very good son, husband, father, and grandfather (Papa). He loved his family and did what he could for them all. He loved to plant a garden every year until his health began to failed. He also loved the Miami Dolphins football team. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 58 years Evangelist Harriet R. Doctor. Three daughters Debbie and Tanya Doctor of the home. Lorrie Carter (William) of Montgomery Alabama and one son Leroy C. Doctor ( Lehana) of Rochester, New York. His oldest son proceeded him in death December 2023. Three brothers Chesley Doctor (Gloria) of Manassas VA, Madison Doctor (Valarie) of Columbia SC, Micheal Doctor of Tampa Florida. He was proceeded in death by his brothers Calvin Doctor and Robert Doctor. He also has three sisters in laws Virginia Doctor, Linda Glover, and Julia Riggins. He has four granddaughters Brittany Doctor who helped raised. Abria, Autumn, and Mandisa Doctor of New York. One grandson Evan Carter. Two great granddaughter Shantell Doctor and Alora Doctor and one great grandson Javion Doctor of the home. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Also one brother-in-law Vincent Riggins and one special grandson Samuel Tater Jamison.
