Firefighter-paramedics with Colleton County Fire-Rescue used hand tools to remove the windshield from this overturned delivery truck on Feb. 10 so they could remove the entrapped driver. The delivery driver overturned on Interstate 95 near the 53 mile marker at Walterboro. The “box style truck” was headed south when it left the roadway and then overturned, according to Barry McRoy, chief of Colleton County Fire-Rescue. According to McRoy, the delivery truck was carrying beer and wine when it overturned. The crash created a spill of beer and wine along the shoulder of the highway. Rescue crews pulled the man from the vehicle and transported him to Colleton Medical Center for treatment. He was the only occupant in the vehicle.

The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
