This month’s Day Trippin’ takes us to St. George and the Bair-ly Pulling Tractor Pull. Located on Mount Zion Rd., Manning and Lisa Bair have made the Antique Tractor Pull was one of the most family friendly events I have been to in the last 10 years.
The Tractor Pull, if you have never been to one, requires the tractor to pull a weighted sled down a 300-foot track. As the sled moves forward the weight is shifted to require the tractor to pull with more force. Participants add weight to the tractors after each round to increase their weight class. The longest distance wins the weight class. The participant all aim for the coveted “Full Pull”. This is when the tractor completes the full distance of the track, 300’. Winners of each class for this year are listed below:

In addition to the antique tractors pulling and on display, the pull offered a car and truck show to check out, and a radio-controlled airplane demonstration.
The event included numerous food venders selling catfish stew, hamburgers, bar b que, and even boiled peanuts.
Future tractor pullers could get a feel for the sport with the Pedal Pull for Kids. The kids used a pedal tractor to pull a small sled on the track. Children could also play on a sand pile with Tonka Trucks or play in a sand box full of corn. There was also a basketball toss game to play.
The next pull will be March 8, 2025. If you want a nice day out with the family, this is an event I would highly recommend. They have a website at bairlypulling.com.
