David William Johnson, Sr., age 80, of Walterboro, entered into rest Saturday, December 26, 2020, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.

 Born February 20, 1940, in Racine, Wisconsin, he was a son of the late David E. Johnson and the late Veronica Frank Johnson.   He operated an auto-mechanic garage and dearly loved classic cars. He owned and operated Beachway Auto on James Island.  He enjoyed racing and attending car shows, where he enjoyed showing off his pride and joy, Black Beauty his El Camino.   He was also a gun enthusiast who collected as well as participated in competition shooting. 

Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Leslee E. Johnson; four children, Jeffery Johnson, David Johnson, Jr., Dawn Winningham, and Veronica Larson; step-children, Linda Ferguson, Heather LeClair, Stacy LeClair and Amanda LeClair ; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and a brother, William Johnson.  He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Johnson. 

Arrangements for a memorial service are incomplete at this time and will be planned once the current situation that currently exists with the coronavirus has subsided.
