The Colleton County All-Star Darlings qualified to participate in the South Carolina State All-Star Tournament after going 1-2 in a best-of-three series against the Hanahan All-Stars. The tourney was on June 18-19 in Moncks Corner.

The Darlings lost 15-14 in game one, then shut-out Hanahan in game two with a score of 10-0. This forced the “if necessary” game.

In the District 8 Championship, the Darlings lost a heartbreaker 12-11 to be eliminated.

Following the District Tournament, the Darlings later learned they had the opportunity to move on in the competition and participate in the Dixie Darlings State Championship, which was July 10-14 in Johnsonville in Florence County.

Colleton County faced Aynor in game one, which was played Saturday, July 10. The Darlings lost 18-3 with Lola Herndon, Madisyn Padgett and Payton Padgett scoring Colleton County’s only runs.

The Darlings moved into the loser’s bracket where they would face Johnsonville on the following day. Colleton County scored 13 runs on the way to a 13-8 victory.
