K-9 finds drugs
A sheriff’s department deputy stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Cottageville Highway and Robertson Boulevard on August 6. The deputy, suspecting narcotics, requested a K-9 officer to air sniff the vehicle.
Upon arriving on scene, K-9 Hydro was deployed on the vehicle. On the first pass hydro began rapidly sniffing and jumped through the open drivers window alerting to the presence of narcotics. Hydro was removed for his safety and a search was conducted.
The search revealed two meth pipes, one needle, and two scales with residue inside. Items were seized by the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office.

Failure to stop for blue lights
Deputies stopped a vehicle on August 6 allegedly operating without lights and crossing the center line.
As officers approached the vehicle, it sped off, traveling the wrong way on North Walter Street, then crossing Wichman and failing to yield to traffic. The vehicle continued down several residential streets reaching speeds over 80 miles per hour. The officers followed the vehicle as it reached a dead end and attempted to turn around.
Seeing the patrol cars, the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers were able to capture a picture of the alleged perpetrator.
When deputies searched the car, they discovered a passenger who was later released.
K-9 units were deployed but were unable to locate the driver.
Deputies were able to identify the alleged perpetrator who is wanted for his sixth offense for driving while under suspension, 14 failures to pay, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, failure to stop for a blue light, and as a habitual offender.
The vehicle was towed and warrants issued.
