Wanted man caught in parked car
A 31-year-old wanted Walterboro woman was found unresponsive in his car last week. Officers with the Walterboro Police Department were called to the EZ Shop No. 4, where they found the man’s car illegally parked in the parking lot. The car had been sitting there for roughly two hours, according to a WPD incident report. When officers tried to wake the driver, he was unresponsive. Officers then learned the man is wanted by Dorchester County for domestic violence. The man was taken into custody and his vehicle was towed.

Beer can toss gets local woman a ticket
A 25-year-old Walterboro woman is charged with littering after officers caught her tossing trash out of her car window. According to a Walterboro Police Department incident report, the woman threw a beer can out of her car window on Bells Highway near Interstate 95. The woman is charged with littering. This is part of an ongoing effort by local authorities to stop littering in the community.

Drugs found in motel parking lot
Officers seized an array of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop last weekend. On June 11, officers with the Walterboro Police Department were called to a hotel on Sniders Highway where they used a canine drug dog to help locate drugs and drug paraphernalia. Bongs, scales, marijuana seeds, meth pipes and dab pens were all seized. Consequently, two people were arrested: a 33-year-old Cottageville woman and a 39-year-old Summerville man are facing charges of possession of drug paraphernalia.
