The “free” husky puppy
A woman called the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office on June 9 after she attempted to get a “free” Siberian husky puppy on the internet.
Apparently, the puppy was free, but came with a transportation fee. A suspect who said he was from PetXpress called the woman and said she owed $300 for transportation and $750 for a “crate fee.” She paid $300 on her debit card.
Then she realized the call was a scam and tried to get the caller to refund the money. He refused and she canceled the debit card.
When a deputy called, the suspect first said he would refund the money, then hung up and refused to answer the phone again.

Fight at Sure Shots
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a fight at Sure Shots Bar in Ruffin on June 13.
Apparently, a person refused to get in the car to return home and got in a fight with person trying to get him to leave. One woman was transported by Fire-Rescue with a contusion on her head. Another victim was reportedly hit by a passing vehicle, knocking the car’s mirror cover off, but denied medical treatment.

No shooting
A report at a shooting at Taint’s Bar near Round O on June 13 turned out to be unfounded.
