Fugitive from justice is captured

A fugitive from justice has been captured after he was found hiding behind a couch inside a Colleton County house.
On April 27th, investigators with the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office were told that a wanted man was possibly being hidden inside a house in Yemassee. When local officers arrived to the Bluehouse Road residence, they searched the property and quickly found the wanted man hiding behind a couch in a living room.
The man was safely taken into custody and was transported to the Colleton County Detention Center.

Horses let loose from pen
Deputies are investigating the vandalism of property in Walterboro. According to a Colleton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a residence on April 28th when the property owner discovered his horses roaming outside of their pen. An unknown suspect cut a hole in the fence and the horses were let out of the pen. The victim told deputies that he saw unknown suspects cutting the hole in the fence. The man’s horses then went into the roadway and had to be herded back into the pen. None of the horses were injured in this incident, and it is under investigation.

Husband, wife fight but refuse to press charges
Deputies with the Colleton County Sheriffs’ Office were called to a Cottageville residence on April 28th to a report of domestic violence. According to a sheriff’s office incident report, the female victim said her husband grabbed her by the arm and took her keys from her. The deputy stated in his report that neither party wanted to pursue charges against the other and there were no visible injuries to the husband or wife. No action was taken.

Missing person found dead
Deputies were called to a house on Grove Street in Walterboro last week to look for a missing person. However, the alleged missing person was later found dead on the property. According to a Colleton County Sheriff’s Office incident report, the death is under investigation.

Drunk woman causes a scene at boat landing
Deputies responded to the Public Boat Landing in Yemassee on April 26th to a report of a drunken woman causing a scene and possibly even firing a gun. When law enforcement officers arrived to the landing, they found a drunk suspect driving a golf cart near the scene, on Public Landing Lane. She was arrested for being a pedestrian under the influence and she was taken to jail.

Cottageville man accused of harassing neighbor
A Cottageville woman called the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office for help on April 26th after her neighbor repeatedly harassed her and damaged her property. According to a Colleton County Sheriff’s Office incident report, the suspect, who lives next door to the victim, allegedly damaged the victim's door to her trailer and hit her dog with a stick. The suspect also turned her dog’s water bowl over, and then filled it with sand. The man is also accused of cutting a chain from the dog’s neck so the dog “could run loose,” the report states. Lastly, the suspect allegedly killed a snake and laid it on the woman’s door step, the report states. The case is under investigation.
